![]() Executive Club Director One of the flaws of the current club system is playing in so many games and so many travel days result in little time for practice, or for individual drill time where the needed skills are developed. Secondly, we do not label players as "Elite" or "Starters" because somebody has to start the game. That is one way we eliminate that misconception that there are future WNBA Hall of Famers playing on our 12u teams. Our coaches know that winning the game is essential for team and club morale, and a player's participation throughout the course of a tournament will build the self esteem and confidence of that player along with developing a deep bench when they really need it. When players are put in the position to compete they are given the opportunity to put their training into action.
Players are trying to get noticed by college coaches and they
believe that the best way to get seen is to go out and play as many
showcase tournaments as possible, and that is what they are being sold
on. In reality the fact that if a player is not good enough or do not
have the grades, it does not matter how much exposure they get. Skill
development is becoming less and less important in club basketball but
we believe that somewhere in this system, there needs to be a new
energized focus on this skill development, and we are here to provide
it. In closing, we believe that the combination of player development and player participation backed by one of the most recognized exposure services in the country, we can help these athletes obtain that college scholarship they are working so hard for.
